CADET PRE-ARRIVAL CHECKLIST

All Cadets Apply for Cadet Housing

All cadets must complete the housing application. Cadets are required to live in the Texas A&M Maritime Academy Hall during Orientation Week.

All Cadets Complete a Texas A&M University at Galveston - Corps of Cadets - Preparticipation Evaluation and Medical History Form

All cadets are required to complete the Texas A&M University at Galveston Corps of Cadets Preparticipation Evaluation and Medical History Form. Please have the form completed no more than 14 days before your arrival on campus for Orientation Week check-in.

License Option Cadets Apply for and/or provide a copy of a U.S. Passport

Cadets must bring their current U.S. passport to O-Week check-in. If the cadet does not have a passport, they must apply for one. International cadets must provide an F-1 visa. This document is required for all License Option Cadets within 2 months following Orientation Week check-in.

License Option Cadets Apply for a TWIC Card

The Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) is required for all cadets in a License Option program. You are encouraged to have it in-hand prior to your arrival on campus for Orientation Week (O-Week). First time applicants can complete the application online, but must complete the in-person process at a local application center. Non-License Option cadets are not required to obtain a TWIC. This document is required for all License Option Cadets within 2 months following Orientation Week check-in.

All Cadets Complete the Orientation Week Assumption of Risk

Cadets must complete the assumption of risk form before participating in O-week. This will be submitted during O-week check-in.

All Cadets Required Uniforms and Other Regimental Purchases

Uniforms are a visible symbol of participation and commitment worn by all cadets. Cadets are encouraged to order or purchase their uniforms in a timely manner.

  • Starting with uniform orders placed in October 2026, Navy Exchange will ship uniforms directly to the cadet’s preferred address. Please follow the instructions carefully when completing the uniform order sheet to make sure your order is processed correctly.
Cadet Backpack with Required Orientation Week and Regimental Items

Note: Backpacks with required Orientation Week and other regimental items will be available for pick-up from the campus’ Bookstore starting on Orientation week’s check-in day.

Coveralls

Note: the name patches that are received with your regimental items that come with your Bookstore backpack has a Velcro that can be worn with the Scandia coveralls.
