Life as a Cadet
Life as a Cadet at the Texas A&M Maritime Academy is engineered to forge responsibility, integrity and foundational maritime leadership skills. Operating in compliance with federal regulations the TAMMA Corps of Cadets balance demanding university academics with strict accountability standards, regular military-style formations, and professional development blocks.
A Day in the life of a cadet
Regimental Discipline From early morning musters to uniform inspections, cadets cultivate accountability, self-reliance, and attention to detail that structures their professional lives.
Maritime Operations Cadets gain true hands-on competence by operating the TS Lone Star State, standing watches, managing maintenance and learning alongside professional staff mentors.
Aggie Traditions Bound by the Aggie Honor Code, Sea Aggies uniquely merge Texas A&M's core values—Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect, and Selfless Service—with maritime heritage.
The Foundation of the Corps
At the Texas A&M Maritime Academy, the Corps of Cadets is structured into distinct Companies, the foundational units where leadership is forged, lifelong bonds are secured, and accountability is practiced daily.
Much more than just housing arrangements, these companies serve as self-governing, tight-knit communities. Led by senior cadet officers, every company establishes its own culture of academic achievement, physical readiness, and operational discipline under the watchful guidance of the Commandant's staff.
Leadership, Teamwork and Lifelong Camaraderie
